Part of Caerleon Legionary fortress (Nprn95647).

Trenching along a 110m strip along the eastern sides of the grounds of The Croft, in 1966, examined elements of eight pairs of what are assumed to have been legionary barrack blocks, housing part of Legio II Augusta.

The south-west part of this site is recorded under Nprn275990.
