Description
Cadw SAM No.=GM473

A complex of ruined structures represent 'the hermitage of St Kenydd-atte-Holme', mentioned in 1195. Excavations in 1965-8 demonstrated the presence of pre-Norman monastic structurs, including a post-built shrine within a stone-walled enclosure.
Possible Iron Age occupation material and structures were encountered, linking the site with the defended enclosure on the west of the Isle (Nprn301302).
