Description

1. Dyfed Archaeological Trust PRN 10498.

'Summary :
A cropmark defended enclosure was noted by the RCAHMW on an Ordnance Survey oblique aerial photograph taken in 1972. The RCAHMW describe it: 'A circular univallate cropmark enclosure measuring c170m dia. Off-centre to the S, within this enclosure, is set a further circular (cropmark) enclosure measuring c38m diameter. This site has the superficial appearance of an Iron Age/Romano British enclosed settlement.' The site lies on a southeast-facing slope at 105m above sea level. In 2006, there was no surface evidence for this site. The site was under improved pasture. K Murphy and R Ramsey 16 November 2006'

2. This concentric, curvilinear enclosure measuring approx. 120m diameter was recorded during Royal Commission aerial reconnaissance on 11th July 2018, during the 2018 drought, as a faint emerging cropmark in a recently cropped stubble field. There are traces of an inner enclosure. Image refs: AP_2018_4663-4669.
