Description

Cropmarks recorded during Royal Commission aerial reconnaissance in the 2018 drought, on 9th July (AP_2018_3537-40), show a narrow-ditched polygonal enclosure measuring approx. 35m across, set on a knoll at 185m O.D. on the north side of the river Usk. However, further narrow ditches of a wider-spread enclosure or enclosure group can be traced on the aerial photographs for a further 100m in fields to the north and north-east. The enclosure complex appears typical of Iron Age or Romano-British defended farm complexes.
