A large field enclosure on the northwestern side of Nant Hirin (which forms the southeastern side of the enclosure), defined on three sides by a substantial earthwork bank, often 2m wide by 1m high. It seems to predate the current dwelling at Aberglanhirin and may be associated with a much earlier settlement (NPRN 30848), which survives as an earthwork within the enclosure. The original enclosure has been partly sub-divided or overlain by more recent field parcels, mostly defined by post and wire fencing. It would appear to have enclosed approximately 27ha of ground originally. When visited in June 2009 the area was used for semi-improved grazing and vegetation cover was grass. J.J.
