DescriptionLinear parchmark running east-west through Foxhill Farm, and visible for approx. 250m, running through an area of former lime diggings. The parchmark recorded during RCAHMW aerial reconnaissance on 11th July 2018, during the 2018 drought, does resemble a Roman road, but is slightly wavering in its course and lacks any evidence of flanking quarry pits. It may be a genuine parchmark of a buried former road or metalled trackway, or alternatively the course of a fairly recent pipeline trench.
