Description
Royal Commission aerial reconnaissance on 9th July 2018 during the 2018 drought recorded parchmarks of a circular or sub-circular ditched enclosure some 70m SE of the line of the Roman Road (see NPRN 424311), sited on a west facing slope below a local summit to the east, and the steep river valley of the Talog to the south. The enclosure measures 38m diameter, with a slightly flattened north-west facade through which there is a simple gateway. There is a possible depression or rectangular hollow/structure just inside this gateway. The ditch is broad. There is the possibility that this site is a Roman watch tower overlooking the river crossing of the Afon Talog by the Roman road RR69d.
