The Tir-y-Gafel or Lammas ecovillage is a collective of 9 smallholdings based on self-reliance using combinations of hydro power, solar power and wind turbines for energy. The project supports a permaculture approach to land management. The houses, workshops and barns have been built from local natural materials or recycled materials.

The project was the first ecovillage in the UK to attain prospective planning permission in 2009.
