The Welsh Highland Railway (nprn 91420) station at Caernarfon is a temporary terminus of the line from Porthmadog; it consists of a passing loop, a platform and a ticket office/shop. It is built on the trackbed of the former standard-gauge London and North Western Railway line which ran through the town until 1964.
