DescriptionPromontory fort, measuring approx. 100m by 100m by 100m, occupying a sharp-angled promontory (200m OD) above the Afon Wysg (River Usk). The enclosure is pear-shaped, with outworks on the east and south sides. It is cut through by a railway cutting associated with quarrying, shown on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey County Series mapping (Brecknockshire XXVI 12, 1886). By the 2nd edition mapping in 1904 the railway had been abandoned. Discovered by Bryn Gethin during analysis of aerial photography and Lidar in 2010.
