DescriptionThe Gullet Woollen Factory stood within the land bounded by Crescent Street, Union Street, Bryn Street and Commercial Street in Penygloddfa (nprn 400005), Newtown's woollen district. The factory, built some time after 1828 probably as a handloom factory, was completely surrounded by other buildings and accessible only on foot. In 1874 it was re-opened as a handloom factory by the Welsh Woollen Company. The land on which the Gullet Factory stood is a now a builder's yard known as Gullet Court.
