DescriptionThe Monk's Cell was a garden building built in 1905 for Sir Clifford Cory owner of Llantarnam Abbey from 1895. The building overlooked a small lake, now gone, and replaced a ruinous building. It is said to have been used as a changing-room for polo matches. Built of purple squared rubble stone with ashlar dressings and hipped slate roof with eaves brackets. It is single storey, T-plan with an ashlar ridge stack on the rear wing. It has a small round tower with conical roof. There are Tudor-style details.
Now in use as a cottage and workshop.
