David Pugh, Newtown, suggests that the site has either been confused with Glanbechan Factory, later Crescent Mill (nprn 410679), the only known woollen mill in Crescent Street, or that 'Gannet' is a corruption of 'Gullet': the Gullet Woollen Factory (nprn 411112) stood in what is now a builder's yard known as Gullet Court.
