Description
Part of NPRN 40590. Conglog slate quarry had its own incline from the main working level, Level C, down to the mill (NPRN 408357). The two parallel walls of the drum house, made of unsawn waste blocks and 7.9 metres long by 1.2 metres thick, have collapsed, and the rope drum was probably removed many years ago. The southern wall was extended to the head of the incline to house a seat for the brakesman. The incline and drum house probably date from 1873/4 when the quarry was being redeveloped by the Conglog Slate and Slab Company Limited under Joseph Kellow, agent and engineer.
