Description

St David's Church was built 1838-40 by the younger Thomas Penson. In 1894-5 it was pulled down (excepting the tower) and rebuilt by R Lloyd Evans. It is sometimes referred to as New St David's being a replacement of the Old St David's, built in the sixteenth century which was never completed, and now a ruin (NPRN 93307).
The new church was rebuilt on a cruciform plan in early Gothic style comprising chancel with south organ chamber and north vestry, wide nave with narrow passage lean-to aisles, or ambulatories, and short north and south transepts.
