DescriptionSoilmarks in freshly ploughed field show two dark plough-leveled mounds presumably outlying workings of the nearby Jeffreystone colliery. Further, similar features are portrayed on OS County series mapping of 1865, with further features associated with early mining occurring elsewhere about the village of Jeffreston.
