DescriptionThe sea lock at Barry Docks (nprn 34234) comprises, in effect, two adjacent locks. The more westerly, Lady Windsor Lock, is a conventional narrow lock measuring some 200m between gates and 20m wide. The more easterly lock uses Dock No.3 as its main chamber; Dock No.3 measures 184m long north west to south east by 152m and has a pair of gates in the north west wall and another pair in the south east wall. Both locks independently allow access between the open sea and Dock No.1.
