DescriptionA group of buildings, including longhuts, of medieval or later date lie close to a stream on the N side of Foel Fraith.
At the base of a steep N-facing cliff lies a possible longhouse which measures overall, 26.0m. E-W by 4.5m. The E section is the best preserved and measures overall, 11.5m. E-W and is divided into two by a N-S wall. The external walls (i.e. those on the N, E and S), up to 0.8m. wide and standing to a height of 1.0m., are built of roughly coursed limestone slabs and boulders. The W wall, which would have been internal, consists of outer faces of slabs set on edge, with boulder infilling and is about 0.8m. wide, 0.5m. high. There is a possible doorway in the W wall. The remainder of the building is bounded by badly spread boulder walls up to 1.2m. wide, 0.3m. high and shows some evidence of internal N-S divisions. Almost abutting the W end, but at a higher level, and different orientation, is a structure measuring overall, 6.0m. SE-NW by 5.0m., bounded by badly spread boulder walls 0.4m. high. There is no obvious entrance.
