DescriptionA cairnfield which appears to be a component part of a field system (NPRN 301870).
Cairns number about 50 in all and seem to be confined to the E half of the site, with particular concentrations around the 330m contour. They are generally composed of unsorted stones and small boulders consolidated with light vegetation. The majority are circular or oval in shape, and range in size from 2m and 10m across, but rectangular, triangular and linear forms are also represented. The maximum height is about 0.3m. Three cairns stand out due to their large size and regularity of shape. They may have had a sepulchral function and are described separately.
