Event and Historical Information:
The VILLA was a 441nt Spanish barque on passage from Liverpool to Le Havre with a cargo of coal. The barque was driven ashore at Porth Colmon at the height of the Royal Charter gale 25-26 October 1859 (northwesterly winds force 12). One of the crewmen was drowned and was buried at Llangwnnad Church.
