3. Two seventeenth century houses, converted as an inn, the 'Cross Keys', in the nineteenth century and now divided between three dwellings. Both houses hae been extensively altered and added to. Early editions of OS County series (Brecknock. XXXV.15 1887, 1904) portray the complex at key stages of its changing fortunes.
The early seventeenth century upper house comprised a hall and inner parlour. The hall had a fireplace and stair at its lower end. The cross passage and outer room beyond were rebuilt in the (?)late nineteenth century. The house originally faced south. In the early nineteenth century it was turned round to face the publc road.
The lower house was added on the south-east in the mid to late seventeenth century. This had a hall and inner parlour. The wide cross passage provided access to the yard on the north-east. Beyond the passage the outer room had its own stair and a cellar.
