Description
Physical archive accumulated during the course of Charles F. Ellis' career. Ellis was an architect working from his practice in Aberdyfi. Collection includes information about homes built mainly in the Aberdyfi and Tywyn areas, work undertaken to public buildings (chapels, churches, cottage hospital, community halls), and some commercial work (banks, hotel, retail). The collection includes original drawings, blue prints, correspondence, tender documents, and a ledger relating to the business. Additional material relates to an exhibition of Ellis' work (1977) and includes photos of buildings designed by Ellis, slides, correspondence relating to Ellis' work (including with the Estate of William Clough-Ellis), and exhibition brochures and postcards.
