Disgrifiad

1. An abandoned encroachment/intake on common land is defined by a ditched bank which radiates in a loop from a substantial embanked/walled enclosure on Bryn Pwllygerwn; this latter is itself now abandoned.
The intake bank in question is slighter than its neighbours and fades significantly at its east and west limits. On the east it appears to merge with a leat which is cut through by the bank/wall mentioned (and which can be traced along a sinuous path southwards to SN 81602630 on the Afon Wysg).
A Bronze Age round barrow (NPRN: 84428) appears to have been used as a boundary marker. It lies just inside the intake and robbing spoil from the cairn lies upon the intake bank.

2. Examination of air photographs shows faint cultivation ridges within the innermost enclosure bank.
