DisgrifiadCwmorthin Independent Chapel was built in 1866 along with the nearby cottages of Cwmorthin Terrace. It cost £100 to build and had seating for 100. The chapel was then modified in 1878 when there were 200 sittings. By 2003 Cwmorthin had fallen into ruins, and by 2013 only half height of the gable entrance and the bases of the other walls remained.
