Cofnod Safle

Glyncorrwg South and North pits were sunk in the early twentieth century. The colliery was modernised and electrified, with many of the surface buildings rebuilt, in the late 1950s and early 1960s. However, the site was closed in 1970 and surface remains cleared by 1980, although Tower Colliery (nprn 91586) continued to work the mine's reserve coal seams.
