Royal Commission aerial reconnaissance on 4th July 2018 recorded extensive cropmarks of strip-field systems, linear ditches and hollow ways on land to the south and east of Afonwen Farm. The fields underlie the present field pattern, and appear medieval in character although they could be of an earlier date. Further cropmarks of fields to the east at Glanllynnau (NPRN 423653) recorded on the same flight are of an earlier character.

Discovered during the 2018 drought.
