DisgrifiadA late nineteenth century toll cottage stands at the southern end of Pont Maentwrog (nprn 24191), oppposite a milestone (nprn 409441). It was built by the Tan y bwlch estate as part of an extensive programme of rebuilding and improvement in the late nineteenth century, but there may have been an earlier cottagee dating from the establishmenty of the Turnpike Trust in 1777.
The house is built in a simplified gothic style, one and a half storeys high and with a T-shaped plan; it has rubble walls under a slate roof with projecting eaves. There is a central chimney stack with a diagonal shaft.
