DisgrifiadSet in the walling branching to the southeast off Pont Maentwrog (nprn 24191), is a milestone, probably dating from the late eighteenth century. It is a stone slab, roughly rectangular in shape and now painted, and bears the inscription:
MILES / LONDON / 220 / DOLGELLEY / 18 / CAERNARVON / 23 / BALA / 22 / CERNIOGE / 20 / BEDDGELERT / 10 / HARLECH / 10 / BARMOUTH / 20.
Merioneth was the last of the Welsh counties to have turnpike roads; it was not until the Merioneth Turnpike Act of 1777 that most of the existing roads had been brought under a Trust.
A toll cottage (nprn 409442) stands at the southern end of Pont Maentwrog.
