DisgrifiadThis terrace of six cottages at the foot of the track from Bwlch Cwmorthin was built by the Rhosydd Slate Company in 1865-6. Materials were brought to site via the Croesor Tramway, as the Cwmorthin Quarry company would not allow Rhosydd to use their road for wheeled transport. In 1871 each cottage was occupied by a quarryman, his wife and up to three children.
The cottages are built from local rock rather than slate, and to maintain the symmetry of the terrace there was a blind chimney at the east end. All the ground floor rooms had two fireplaces, suggesting that there were two rooms separated by wooden partitions. On the north side were small yards with outbuildings. The terrace was abandoned in the early 1930s.
