DisgrifiadGlancothi is thought to originally been a farmstead. In the early 19th century it became the residence of Captain William Hughes, his son, Colonel Hughes, who inherited the house, was an advocate of temperance. The large 2-storied house was rendered and had wide, low gables; window shutters and a verandah. The house is now derelict apart fron one wing.
