Brecon High School moved into its current building in December 2019. The 750-place secondary school was built by BAM Construction at a cost of £22m as part of Welsh Government's 21st Century Schools Programme. The new school building, designed by design practice Scott Brownrigg, replaced the earlier 1950s built (to the designs of County Architect, T. Jestyn Williams) on an adjacent site, which has since been demolished.
