Disgrifiad1. The stone foundation of dry dock was South wall of dock; wharf house (nprn 34453) beyond. Water still in this terminal dock, branch canal blocked.
2. Private branch from Neath Canal (nprn 34444); approx 1/4 mile long.

3. A branch canal was built in l8l7 across the valley floor to join a railway from Cwm Gwrach collieries. At the junction (SN 8553 0456) is a derelict wharf-house and at the terminus of the branch canal are the remains of a lime-kiln (SN 8700 0497).

Cnel Bach (or Cwm Gwrach branch canal) follows a south-easterly line from the main canal to the railway.
