DisgrifiadHirwaunissa is the only one of the three inclined planes that can still be seen, as the Burry Port and Gwendraeth Valley Railway followed an alignment alongside rather than on the incline in order to ease its gradient at this point. The stone-built incline head stands in the undergrowth. Of the two other inclines, Ponthenri (SN 47640923) has been overbuilt by the railway - although the public house by the bridge is called the 'Incline Hotel' (NPRN 777). Capel Ifan Inclined Plane (SN 4915 1045) has been lost in later colliery buildings.
