The Melin Court Brook Roman marching camp is set in a rectangular area about 220m north-west to south-east by 200m and is defined by traces of bank and ditch with no definite entrances; the highest ground within the camp is on the south and south-east, suggesting that the camp faced north-east, towards the Neath Valley. The eastern angle is immediately adjacent to a presumed late prehistoric enclosure (Nprn301306), compare with similar situation at Blaen Cwm Bach marching camp (Nprn301344), about 3.7km WSW.
