A promontory fort, demarcated by a substancial bank and ditch on the landward side, having a median cross-bank and an external annex.
However the distinctive form of the 'annex' has led to its being recorded seperately (Napps Circle, SN20NW6, Dat Prn3828). Roundhouse circles have been noted within both the 'annex' and the enclosure/fort, whilst a field system has been
identified on the steep slopes to W. A complex monument.
