A circular embanked enclosure set upon the generally level summit of a spur in broken country towards the upper reaches of the Gwendraeth Fach valley.
The enclosure is roughly 30m in diameter and a trial excavation showed that it was enclosed by a 6.0m wide bank composed of limestone boulders and stones. There is no mention of a ditch. The site is biscected by a hedge and to the east the interior has been levelled up so that the monument appears as a platform.
As a ring cairn this would be a Bronze Age ritual monument, probably containing cremated burials.
The cropmarks of what appears to be a later prehistoric type settlement enclosure have been recorded some 50m to the west.
