This garden is modest-szied farm with possibly medieval monastic origins for the immediate landscape. It is depicted on the Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25-inch maps of Monmouthshire XX, sheet 7 (1880,1901) where it is shown to be set in a largely rectangular enclosure with a western pond. It was largely down to orchard with a small kitchen garden and paths immediately around the house on the E.
