Sutton Farmhouse is a 16-17th century stone-built, slate-roofed building, of roughly L-shaped, irregular plan, being of two storeys with attics.
The house has irregular elevations with square rubble stacks, exposed chimney breasts on corbels and stone mullioned windows.
Internally is a fireplace stair and a cross passage.
On the south-east is a large walled garden with an attached dovecote (Nprn37688), to the west are farm buildings (Nprn's37686, 37689 and 37690) framing a series of yards.
