Described in 1940's as "long low rectangular building with thatched roof", major structural alterations were carried out in 1953-54 which included an extension and the creation of a main entrance on the road side of the building. Mr E.B. Griffiths suggests that the Inn may have been an element of a malederia or medieval hospital. Source; undated report by E.B.Griffiths held in NMRW.
