DisgrifiadThe Plas was built in about 1880 as a house for the manager of the local granite quarries; it is part of the settlement of Porth y Nant (nprn 33025) consisting of two rows of quarrymen's housing, chapel, school, shop and bakery. Nant Gwrtheyrn National Language Centre is based in the village.
