1. This garden appears on OS 25 inch sheet XXV: 5 editions 1889 and 1903. The site appears on the former dominated by a motte (probably a viewing platform - note the ditched base). The service buildings are on the E of the road, the house immediately S of the mound on the W side of the road, and a small gridded formal garden before it. This grid largely disappears on the second edition.
