The hamlet of Stag's Head has developed around the crossroads where the B4342 and the B4578 meet, approximately two and a half miles west of Tregaron. It has a petrol station and a caravan park. Presumably the settlement was named Stag's Head after the public house that used to stand there, which was probably a drovers pub. The earliest documentary reference for the public house is from 1822, and it is thought to have closed at some point between 1964 and 1979.
